Dr. Alexander Vaiman believes that preventive and restorative dental care are fundamental to maintaining lifelong oral health and overall well-being. With his commitment to preventive care he primarlily focuses on avoiding dental problems before they start, advising patients to maintain regular cleanings, checkups, fluoride treatments, and giving patient education at every visit.
He believes in routine visits and that they help detect early signs of gum disease, cavities, and oral cancer, allowing dentists to intervene before small issues escalate into major concerns. He also believes that good preventive habits, such as daily brushing, flossing, and professional cleanings, significantly reduce the risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease, both of which are leading causes of tooth loss in adults.
In terms of restorative care, on the other hand, he believes that they address dental issues once they occur, aiming to restore function, strength, and aesthetics. This includes treatments such as fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, and implants. By restoring damaged or missing teeth, patients can maintain proper bite alignment, avoid further deterioration, and preserve facial structure. Restorative procedures not only relieve pain and improve chewing ability, but also enhance appearance and self-esteem. When preventive and restorative care are integrated into a comprehensive dental health plan, patients are more likely to retain their natural teeth for a lifetime.
Together, these two pillars of dentistry support not just oral health but systemic health as well, as many dental issues are linked to conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory illness.
