Practice Policy Statement

At New York Family Dental Arts, we are committed to providing high-quality dental care in a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered environment. Our practice policies are designed to ensure that every patient receives the best possible care while maintaining efficiency and fairness in scheduling and services.

1. Appointments and Scheduling

  • Appointments are scheduled to allow adequate time for each patient’s care. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time.

  • If you are late by more than 15 minutes, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

  • We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee.

2. Payment and Insurance

  • Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.

  • We accept major credit cards, debit cards, checks, and cash.

  • We participate with many insurance plans. As a courtesy, we will submit insurance claims on your behalf. However, patients are responsible for any balances not covered by insurance.

  • A payment plan may be available for extensive treatments upon request.

3. Patient Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and complete medical and dental history.

  • Follow prescribed treatment plans and home care instructions.

  • Notify us of any changes to your contact information, insurance, or health status.

4. Infection Control & Safety

  • Our practice adheres to strict sterilization and infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.

  • If you are feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms of illness, please contact us before your appointment.

5. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • We comply with HIPAA regulations to protect your personal and medical information.

  • Your dental records are confidential and will only be released with your written consent, except as required by law.

6. Emergency Care

  • For urgent dental concerns during office hours, please call us immediately for an emergency appointment.

  • After-hours emergency instructions will be provided on our voicemail or website.

7. Conduct and Zero-Tolerance Policy

  • We strive to create a respectful and welcoming environment. Verbal abuse, inappropriate behavior, or harassment toward staff or other patients will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the practice.

8. Minors and Parental Consent

  • Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for their first visit and for any procedures requiring consent.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that minors adhere to treatment recommendations.

9. Technology and Communication

  • Our practice utilizes SMS, email, and phone calls to confirm appointments and send important updates.

  • Patients may opt in or out of digital communications at any time.
